European Council drops key data protection principles

The German Presidency of the European Council has drafted a Framework on data protection and circulated it to member states.

A Professor Steve Peers has seen it and he isn’t happy:

every key basic protection principle will either be ineffectively protected or will simply fall outside its scope.
