Minority Report

I found Minority Report (tagline: What would you do if you were accused of a murder, you had not committed… yet?) to be quite an entertaining film.

Today’s Times has three articles relating to a new police initiative that seeks to prevent murders and rapes by catching people before they offend, and the comparison is inevitably made.

One thing that immediately springs to mind is that it would be difficult to determine how successful this was, although you could determine how unsuccessful it was.

But where is the debate (as opposed to blithe acceptance)?
