Just to clarify – this is a frequent-flyer passenger convenience gimmick with little to do with actual “security”, and any assertion that it will be “toughening Britain’s borders” is utter garbage. Though that may be a given since this is a Ministerial assertion…

I can’t see ‘the illegals’ queueing up to enrol for this one. Theatre, gimmickry, and the “biometric Immigration Documents” should be a bit of a giveaway as to what ID system this will be linked to (or even become) at some stage…
